Thank you for your support of the Boys Basketball Euchre Tournament. A good time was had by all by a generous crowd.

While everyone else in the state was playing football in the rain, our Brossart Basketball supporters were playing euchre. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event

I will post all of the winners and there were a lot of them, including myself, who won a nice basket off of the 10 basket raffle, and J-Reck (Justin Reckner) who might have taken down the biggest “Split the Pot” in the four year history of our Euchre Tournament.

Here are the Bourbon raffle winners:

I was the winner of Number 7 – the Bourbon and Book, and am happy to have it.  It includes a book written by my old friend, Harry Rust.

Thanks to all of our sponsors and patrons who form the backbone of the event.  Thanks to my three main ladies – Jenna Verst, who handled reservations, seating and a myriad of other details..  Kari Bezold, who pulled off the Bourbon raffle, and Krissy Schalk, who is also the chairperson for the McGarr Euchre Tournament in February, for her creativity in putting together those ten sharp looking raffle baskets.  Thanks to our basketball players for helping set up and moving the card tables from the Firehouse to Hegenauer Hall and those who joined forces to return them at midnight.    The Split the Pot crew did an amazing job – The Piscitellos, Willikes, Schroeders, and Orths (shown above) manned the station and did all of the selling and accounting from beginning to end.  This team sold well over 2,000 Split the Pot tickets!!!  Thanks too to Rob Keller and his bar crew, and David and Shannon Schumacher who tried to keep up with the voracious appetite of the 136 players on hand.  We are lucky to have Gary Steffen, who hasn’t had a player in our program for the past couple of years yet willingly and efficiently handled the official scorekeeping duties for us and to everyone who pitched in any way to pull off this event successfully.

Thanks to Garren Parker, whose company 3DColor was able to print up our Sponsor and Patron banners on short notice, and to Joan Zai, who in addition to everything else, donated some late-night Cheese Coneys.

Rick Steffen did a great job helping us with setup and clean up as well as keeping fresh trash cans available, and had the place looking good throughout the event.

The consensus was that everyone appreciated the opportunity to get out in a group setting and play cards.  We look forward to seeing them again in 2022.
