Freshmen Mustangs Gel, Resulting in a 35-23 Win Over Bracken County

Defense Limits Polar Bears to 23 Points – Rally From 8 Points Down, go on an 14-0 run and never look back, en-route to first season victory

After suffering a pair of early-season losses to Newport and Pendleton County, the Brossart Freshmen Boys put together a complete game, utilizing a strong defensive effort and big games from multiple players including double-digit performances from Domyniq Hadden and Ben Volmer with 12 and 11 points respectively in posting the 35-23 victory.

Volmer who was sidelined with back issues for the entire pre-season just returned to the practice floor a week ago, playing in our two previous games while wearing a back brace, turned in a strong performance in the paint, spearheading a 14-0 Mustangs run that overcame a 12-4 early game deficit.

The Polar Bears were coming off of a 50-37 win over Scott in Taylor Mill twenty-four hours prior.  Noah Nelson, who scored 20 points in that outing, was limited to 8 points in Alexandria on Wednesday night, which was the top offensive output for the Bears.

The Mustangs will tip-off a tripleheader at home Monday evening when we host the Beechwood Tigers in an NKAC Division II, 4:30pm event.
