The Lady ‘Stangs’ golf season opened up on July 25. They participated in the Owen County Lady Rebels tournament where they placed 8th out of 11 teams, Beechwood Invitational at Willows placing 5th out of 8 teams, and the Cooper Classic at Lassing Pointe placing 5th out of 12 teams. At the Cooper Classic, senior, Bailey Ritter, almost had a hole-in-one on # 14 at Lassing Pointe! The Lady ‘Stangs hosted their first ever Crosstown Classic with Campbell County at Pendleton Hills on Friday, August 4. In that tournament, they placed 3rd out of 11 teams. Junior Emma Laker has been the team’s low scorer with an 88 at Owen County, 80 at Beechwood (medaled 4th place), 80 at Cooper (medaled 5th place), and then a personal record for her with a 79 at the Crosstown Classic (medaled and tied for 2nd place). The Lady ‘Stangs participate in the All “A” 10th Region Tournament on Monday, August 7. Here are the results: Lady ‘Stangs defeated Nicholas County, in the bouts of rain, at AJ Jolly GC, in the All “A” 10th Region golf tournament with the score of 399-441. 1st Place medalist was Emma Laker with a score of 83. They will advance to the All “A” Championship on September 9 in Richmond, KY.
