In a game that had a bad feel about it, down two possessions, 18-6, late in the game to a team that we had handled back in August, the Mustangs defense stepped up stymieing the Wildcats offense which had dominated early. Landon Spaulding came from off of the bench and threw a trio of touchdowns, two to Isaac Amin, and the Game-Winner to Eli Davis, to pull victory, 25-18, from the jaws of defeat in the shadow of the wire.
On the night Amin scored three touchdowns, with the first coming in the second quarter from Tripp Wilson. While we had trouble containing the Cats’ big backs Hannah and Haigis, three times we denied them when first and goal Only a flag on fourth down the third time gave them a fifth try which was successful.
With the win, the Mustangs JVs were 6-3 on the now completed, regular season.
