Defense Dominates in 25-0 Win Over NCC
After being stopped at the ten yard line on our first offensive possession, both the Brossart offense and defense took over, paving the way for the 25-0 Championship Game victory over NCC.
Leo Smith hit Charlie Rauch on a 21 yard touchdown pass, giving the Colts a 6-0 first quarter lead that they would not relinquish. Late in the half Charlie Holland broke free and went on a 67 yard trophy run to paydirt, giving the Cols a 13-0 advantage, quickly followed by another Holland Touchdown plunge, this one set up by a 54 yard run by Austin Johnson. The Colts led 19-0 at halftime. Charlie Holland scored for a third time late in the third quarter on a 1 yard waltz into the endzone, making the final score 25-0. This completed an 8-0 Regular Season, a 44-0 win over Bellevue in the Playoff Semi-Finals, and finished out an undefeated 10-0 season here in the Championship game.
Congratulations to Coach Eric Besse, his staff and his team, winners of our first-ever Middle School League Championship!!!
NOTE: During the broadcast I stated that this was our first appearance in a Championship Game. I stand corrected. We actually played for the Small School Title back in 2016.
