Mustangs Qualify Two Bass Fishing Duos For the State Tournament, The Result of Saturday’s State Qualifier at Lake Cumberland

The Bishop Brossart Bass Team was back in action this past weekend competing in the KHSAA Region 2 State Championship Qualifier Tournament on Lake Cumberland.  The team had a strong showing, bringing 10 anglers and 5 boats to the event. A total of 144 boats participated, with the top 32 teams earning a spot in the State Championship set for May 9–10.

Leading the way for Brossart were Carson “Buck” Schultz and Carter Vogel, who finished in 21st place with a full bag of five keepers weighing in at 10 lbs 3 oz. Their boat captain was Spencer Hackworth.

Joining them at State will be the team of John Prather and Wyatt Moree, who secured 30th place with a five-fish limit weighing 8 lbs 8 oz. They were captained by Doug Lackey.

Missing the cut in 77th place overall were Anderson Keller and Beckett Meersman, who weighed in two fish totaling 2 lbs 11 oz. Their boat captain was Andy Schabell.

The teams of Lincoln Schabell with Shane Willke and Collins Parks with Brendan Hill fished hard all day and managed to put fish in the boat, but unfortunately did not land any keepers to weigh. A special thanks goes out to our additional boat captain, “Uncle” Dan Bertram, for his support and dedication.
