With the adaptation of the 2027 Football realignment plan and the implementation of the 1.35 multiplier applied to private school enrollments, Brossart will become a Class 2A Football Program in 2027. We will join Beechwood, Gallatin County, Owen County, and Walton-Verona in Class 2A-District 5, next August.
Sanctioning Pickleball – Absurd. A fad sport created for Senior Citizens to attempt to get a little exercise, being sanctioned a High School Sport. Ridiculous! What next Shuffleboard??? Now, on the other hand, I could see Girls Flag Football becoming incredibly popular. If our Girls Flag Football event, held annually here at Brossart is any indication, I could see where this might really catch on across the state. Pickleball will become a fall sport, and Girls Flag Football a spring sport, going head on with Track and Fast-Pitch softball.
Just because the KHSAA sanctions sports does not mean that every high school adapts them. There are many sports – Tennis, Swimming, LaCrosse, etc, which are sanctioned, but offered mostly by big schools with a large athlete population.
