Mustang Golfers Run Third Behind Highlands, Grant County in Regional Competition, Will Send Beck and Schuetz to State Golf Tournament

Mustangs finish third behind Highlands and Grant County in Tuesday Regional Tournament at the Henry County Country Club.  Andrew Beck and Griffin Schuetz shot in the 70s, earning them a trip to the State Tournament in Bowling Green.

The boys golf team competed Tuesday at Henry County Country Club in Regional Golf play.  The Mustangs finished 3rd overall as a team scoring 337. Highlands won the regional title with a score of 317 followed by Grant County 325.  The boys were 3rd out of 14 teams. 

The Mustangs were led by senior Andrew Beck who scored a 78 and junior Griffin Schuetz 79.  Both Andrew and Griffin qualified to compete in the KHSAA state golf tournament next week in Bowling Green.

The Mustangs were also represented by junior Brandon Bezold 84 and seniors Owen Davis 96 and Mark Owens 98. 

Congratulations to the team on their 3rd place finish and best of luck to Andrew and Griffin as they advance to the state tournament! 

Incidentally, after playing 18 holes of Regional competition golf, Beck traveled from New Castle back to Alexandria in time to suit up for the Mustang Soccer team, where he scored a goal and issued two assists in helping defeat NCC 3-1 at the MAC.
