MAY 2nd - BBHS 4, SCOTT 1 (District Seeding Game)
For six complete innings of play on Monday night at home, Brossart and Scott hooked up in a Pitchers’ Battle supreme. Scott Junior Blaise Huiet was brilliant, allowing no runs and only a single Colin Combs single in that time span. Meanwhile, Brossart hurler, Evan Moore had allowed only 1 unearned run on two hits, while striking out 11.
Huiet was plagued with wildness in the Brossart seventh walking home the tying run. With Alex Amin at third base and one out, Robbie Verst came on to pinch hit for Logan Meyer, and on the second pitch of his at bat, attempted a suicide squeeze bunt an a pitch in the dirt, resulting in Amin being tagged out on the play, sending the game to extras.
We had our chances in regulation, leaving two baserunners in the first and a runner at third base in the fifth.
Colin Combs, Evan Moore, and Andrew Beck all singled for the Mustangs, while Mitchell Combs delivered the three run, walk-off, home run. The win was also Evan Moore’s third on the mound on the year. Freshman Catcher Keegan Gulley gunned down two Eagles attempting to steal.
The win improves our season record to 14-10-1 and 2-0 in district seeding play. Brossart and Campbell County will duke it out at 1:30pm on Saturday on the Campbell County High School campus in Claryville.

Three Mustangs fielding errors contributed to our demise while Walton played error free baseball.
