After back-to-back walk-off losses to quality baseball programs, the Ryle Raiders, who the Mustangs defeated 4-1 in a complete game effort by then Junior, Charles Hartig, at Florence Freedom Park, a year ago, avenged that loss and more Tuesday afternoon at the friendly confines.  The Raiders exploded for 10 runs in the second inning, chasing their old nemesis, en route to a 15-4 win in five innings.  Three different Ryle hurlers scattered 7 hits, one each by Beck, Ebert, Moore, Colin Combs, Adam Bezold, and two by Mitchell Combs.  Five different Mustangs pitchers were victimized for 15 runs, all earned, and 15 hits, in a forgettable outing in which the Mustangs led 1-0 going into the fateful 2nd inning..  Things get no easier on Wednesday when the Mustangs continue our journey through the deep end of the pool taking on Dixie Heights in Crestview Hills.

May 10th - FRESHMAN LADY STANGS

Freshman Lady ‘Stangs started the day with a come from behind victory in the first game to win in walk-off fashion.  The team did a great job getting base runners on and scoring runs. 7th grader, Anna Bezold, tied the game up…followed by 7th grader, Leah Robinson, who hit a walk off home run over left field fence. The girls won both games, which was an added bonus to beating Highlands yesterday.

Mustangs Cap Off Regular Season With a 4-2 Win Over Bryan Station In Lexington, Saturday.  Our Mustangs capped off a two day stint in Lexington with a 4-2 win over Bryan Station on Saturday, after failing narrowly to state-ranked Madison Central on Friday night.  Mustang senior Charles Hartig was on the top of his game in this one going five complete innings giving up two runs (1 earned) on four hits, while striking out four, and not issuing a free-pass.  He was the beneficiary of a Brossart 3 run first inning that would be enough on this afternoon to post the victory.  Colin Combs pitched the sixth and seventh innings allowing no runs on one hit.  Combs and Logan Meyer recorded multiple hit days with Colin going 2 for 3 that included a double and a run scored.  Meyer had a pair of singles.  The Mustangs finish out the regular season a game on the sunny side of .500 at 16-15-1   We will now await the Scott Eagles on Tuesday at Campbell County Tuesday evening at 7pm in the opening round of the 37th District Tournament.

Charles Hartig was the starter and winner Saturday, as we defeat Bryan Station 4-2 in Lexington.
