Freshman Boys Game Reports Through December

Freshmen Get First Season Win 46-18

Our Freshmen enjoyed the class relief of escaping Division I competition, handing the homestanding Ludlow Panthers a 46-18 setback in a game which saw nine Mustangs put ink in the scorebook, led by Ben Doyle’s 10 points.  Logan Blau and Isaac Amin both added 7 each.  I’m sorry to report that Freshman Jackson Steffen will undergo surgery to repair kneecap damage, and will be out indefinitely. The Freshmen will be home Monday evening in a stand-alone 7pm event with Newport.  We will broadcast that game live starting at 6:45pm.

MUSTANG FRESHMEN ESTABLISH A START POINT, OUTPLAYED BY BIG-SCHOOL RYLE 45-24

Our Freshmen Mustangs entered into competition versus 6A Ryle, in Union, Kentucky which was experiencing New York City class traffic, on Tuesday night, falling to the homestanding Raiders 45-24.  Only four Mustangs managed to put ink in the scorebook, led by Ben Doyle with 14, Anthony Schuck, 6, and 2 each from Karter Morgan and Will Dunn.

The Raiders were quite comfortable playing at home, and used their height advantage and perimeter shooting prowess to build a 21-10 halftime lead and never looked back.  Our guys had some bright spots – passing the press test and getting solid efforts from Doyle, who used his athleticism and finesse, while Schuck used his size and strength to muscle home a trio of baskets.  We will look for progress when we continue to stay in the deep 6A end of the pool again traveling to Simon Kenton for a 6:30pm encounter with the Pioneers on Thursday.
