Lady Stangs defeat Campbell County 53-46, win 20th game for fifth straight season, advance to Wednesday night's 7pm finals, and next week's 10th Region Tournament
Brossart defense ruled the first half, in which we permitted the Lady Camels only two field goals, plus eight free-throws, while building a 22-12 halftime lead.
Campbell County fought back, and got the lid off of the hoop in the third quarter, as they cut the Brossart lead to 26-20, but we responded by re-establishing a ten point lead at 32-22 as the third quarter ended with the Lady ‘Stangs on top 34-26. The fourth quarter was more of the same as the Lady Camels mounted another threat, cutting our lead to 35-30, before again, we responded by pushing the lead back to 44-34, and held off the purple-clads 53-46. Molly Kramer led all scores with 16. Olivia Lloyd added 12, with Zoee Meyers and Jill Planeaux scoring 9 points a piece. Lady Camels sophomore Macie Peoples scored 11 and Isabella Jayasariya with 10.
With the win, we post our fifth 20-game wins season in succession, punch our ticket to Wednesday night’s Championship game at 7pm versus the Scott Lady Eagles. Both teams advance to next week’s 10th Region Girls tournament at the Mason County Fieldhouse.
