Mustangs Beat MoCo To Win the 10th Region Title In Dramatic Fashion

After full time + two 5 minute periods, the Mustangs and Indians remained tied 1-1.  In the first round of PKs, Senior Luke D’Alessandro stopped TWO MoCo shots and his brother Ben put the final PK into the back of the net.  Our boys will play Bryan Station Monday 10/20 @7pm at Bryan Station in Lexington.

In the midst of our post season run, it got lost on me that we had some players recognized this past week. The NKHSBSCA (Northern Kentucky High School Boys Soccer Coaches Association) put out their list for “All Region NKY” teams. This is separate from the 10th Region which is in the middle of being voted on now. We had four Mustang Players recognized:
  • Kyle Piscitello- 1st Team- Defense
  • Max Runge- 2nd Team- Forward
  • Sam Chirumbolo- 3rd Team- Midfielder
  • Luke D’Alessandro- Honorable Mention- Goalkeeper

LexCath Holds On To Beat Lady 'Stangs 4-3

The 10th Region Champion Lady ’Stangs (20-3-3) fell to Lexington Catholic in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 State Tournament on Tuesday night. The Lady Knights (20-4-1) built a 3-1 lead before Rylee Fuller slipped one past the keeper after a deflected shot from Kylie Smith. Each team would add another goal, bringing the final score to 4-3. Tessa Hafer, Mackenzie Moeller, and Rylee Fuller tallied the Lady ’Stangs’ goals. What a season, ladies — congratulations on a great run!

Listen to Brian Kuntz and Dan Hafer call the BB-LexCath State Soccer Tournament Event. There are a few minutes missing just prior to halftime.
While there were some broadcast issues, 2 hours of the broadcast are archived, including all 3 of our goals.  We are looking into the problem and expect no issues for our football broadcast on Friday.

Bryan Station slips one by with less than 30 seconds in 2OT

The 10th Region Champion Mustangs (16-8-1) fell to Bryan Station in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 State Tournament on Monday night. The boys gave it their all but came up just short after 89 hard-fought minutes. With 30 seconds to go, it looked like the match was headed to PKs, but the Defenders managed to get a foot on a ball that bounced around inside the 18 for quite a while. A tough way to end a great season — hold your heads high, Mustangs.
