Lady Stangs Win Third 37th District Championship in Four Years. Defeat Campbell County 40-25 Behind 18 Point Performance By Floor General, Madison Parker

Dave Schabell February 23, 2022 11:11 pm

L'Stangs Will Play a District Runner-Up in First Round of the 10th Region Tounament next monday or Tuesday at Nicholas County H.S.

After a run and no-rhyme or reason first quarter, our girls eased into their game plan and offense, outscoring the Lady Camels 11-5 in the second period, taking a 19-12 lead to the locker room at halftime.  During that first half, our girls used their marksmanship from beyond the arc to bust the 3-2- zone played against them.  Bella Rowe and Lauren Macht hit one 3-pointer each, and Madison Parker nailed two of them.  Molly Kramer tossed in a pair of two-pointers.

The second half was more of the same.  A workmanlike 12-7 third quarter, expanding our lead to 31-19 in a period that saw Madison Parker tack on another pair of longballs.   ,

Madison Parker Hit Four 3-Pointers on the night, Scored 18 Points, and was named the Tournament MVP.

While we only managed a single field-goal in the fouth quarter, we took advantage of being in the double-bonus for most of the period, hitting on 7 of 13 attempts, while limiting the Lady Camels to 6 points, accounting for the final of 40 to 25.  For the second time in twenty-four hours the first team to 40 won.

Allison Collins and Aliya Bauer were th Lady Camels named to the All-Tournament Team.  Lady Stangs Lauren Macht and Molly Kramer were maned to the All-Tournament Team.  Madison Parker was the tournament MVP.

Both teams will learn of their 10th Region Tournament opponents this coming Saturday when the draw meeting is held at Harrison County High School.  Brossart will play a district loser, while the Lady Camels will get a district champion..
