Ethan never played a day of Junior Varsity basketball beyond his freshman year. He made the jump from Freshman Team starter to Varsity Starter as a sophomore, where he embarked on a string of playing in 89 consecutive varsity games.
Playing alongside Zach Hamberg, Bryce Donnelly, and J.D. Schumacher, his sophomore season, he was the second leading scorer behind Hamberg, putting up 291 points while averaging 10.8ppg, earning him the team MVP
award.
Eilerman (407) and J.D. Schumacher (462) were the leading scorers on the 2018-19 Mustangs team, combining for 869 points, and were joined by a pair of high-potential sophs Carson Schirmer and Stephen Verst. Together,
they won 19 games, and only late season bad weather cancellations, deprived them of a 20 wins season.
On January 6th, 2020, Ethan Eilerman needed 33 points to join the St. Mary/Bishop Brossart 1,000 Points Club – he scored 34, becoming only the 18th player in our program to join this prestigious group. In his career, he scored a total of 1,338, placing him fourth
among all-time leading scorers.
His career average of 14.5ppg is sixth best all-time.
Ethan started in 87 of the 89 varsity games in which he played beginning with the onset of his sophomore year.
The only two that he did not start were on Senior Nights his sophomore and junior seasons.

Ethan Eilerman, along with Juniors Setphen Verst and Carson Schirmer (At Left) combined to score 1,158 points in 2019-20, en-route to a 25-7 record.
Both Stephen and Carson would miss 9 of the 24 varsity games played during the 2020 Covid-shortened season. Carson, who missed the first 9 games, put up 289 points during the 2020 campaign to land him in 12th place among all-time St. Mary/Bishop Brossart scorers with 1,185 points, with a career scoring average of 11.4ppg. Verst who also sustained an elbow injury prior to his sophomore year, and again during his senior season, ending his career, missed the final 9 games of his senior year, played in 83 varsity games where he scored a total of 883 points for a 10.0 career scoring average.
