Dave Schabell September 14, 2021 12:55 am

The Bishop Brossart Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2020, will be belatedly inducted this coming Saturday night at a dinner in their honor in the Thomas H. Seither Gymnasium

Over the next few days leading up to Saturday night’s Bishop Brossart Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, I will introduce to you the members of the Class of 2020.

Due to the Covid pandemic,  the formal banquet to induct this class was put on hold until this weekend.

Julia Hartig Carver ’01 was a pioneer, tackling the challenge of becoming a female pole vaulter.  She excelled at the sport, setting a KHSAA Sate record as a Junior and then surpassed her own career best the following year, earning her a scholarship to the University of Louisville.  In 2005 Julia was the Conference USA champion, and in 2006 the Big East Runner Up.  She held the U of L Pole Vault record until 2011.

Brad Dunlevy ’92 is one of Brossart’s top all-time Track and Cross-Country runners, who also served as our coach, and owned a Running Shoe store in Newport.

Brad was a two time Regional Cross-Country champion, and was a KHSAA State Champion in 1990 and 1991.  He led his team to a State Clampionship in 1991.  Brad returned to Brossart to serve as our Track Coach, where be served from 1996 trough 2002.  His Brossart teams won two State Championships in 2000 and 2002.  He was the Northern Kentucky Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2002,and the State Coach of the Year in 2002.

On Wednesday I will feature legendary Brossart Teacher, Coach and Golfer – Barb Kohls, as well as 2007 Grad Nathan Mutsch, a member of our 2007 All “A” State Champs basketball team and standout pitcher, who earned a scholarship to pitch at Division I Xavier.

Both the Munninghoff Family Stadium at the MAC, and the Seither Center gymnasium provides ability to watch the games online or through other streaming outlets. The games can be viewed on your computer, phones, tablets, and streaming devices (AppleTV, FireTV and Roku). We have partnered with the NFHS to make this happen.

This does come with a subscription fee. You may choose from a monthly or annual subscription. If you sign up via the button below, BBHS does receive a small portion of that fee.
