There are two things that I will always remember about Joey Martin – his contagious smile and his love of Brossart Football.
His son, Lincoln, who is destined to follow in his daddy’s footsteps, was assigned the Brossart uniform Number 57 the day he was born. There will never be a day in his childhood that he will not be exposed to Mustangs football.
His daddy, Joey, is in his 11th season as a Brossart assistant coach, following an outstanding playing career during the tough times of Brossart football
In addition to his daddy, Uncles Jared, Jake, and presently Jed, along with a myriad of cousins, precede him.
Just days old, Lincoln is shown at right with his mom Stacey, and dad Joey, giving him a tour of the MAC, the stage upon which he will make his reputation as another standout Martin football player, a few years down the road.
Complete with matching coaching shirts, now that Lincoln is all “growing” up, it’s game day and make no mistake about who belongs to whom on the Brossart sidelines.
In the photos below Lincoln is undergoing “Coach in Training” therapy, becoming familiar with whistles, water bottles, Gatorade jugs, footballs, and the smell of the turf field, which is presently his personal playground.
This site originated in December 2001 by Dave Schabell. Here, we mainly showcase the BBHS boys basketball program, but also recognize some of the “breaking news” and “what’s happening” stories around campus.
