A much improved Lloyd Juggernauts team than the one we defeated in Alexandria 13-8 a year ago, saw Senior Running-Back Kaiden Zulager victimize us for 4 touchdowns, bringing his season total to 9, en route to a 40-3 Running Clock win over our Mustangs. Friday night in Erlanger. The game brought back memories of our struggles through our 2A era where we went four years experiencing deflating loss after deflating loss, giving us cause to appreciate where our program has come from those days to the present. Our lone bright spot in this game was a 45 yard field-goal delivered by the Junior kicking wonderkid, Tyler Smith, who sent his successful kick into the Erlanger night with plenty of room to spare.

The Erlanger Lloyd Juggernauts JV Team made their way to Alexandria , 27 men strong, on Saturday morning and seemingly picked up right where their big brother Juggs left off twelve hours earlier when Nate Cummings took flight and went 33 yards right up the middle unscathed, giving his team a 6-0 lead, which became 8-0 with the successful 2-point conversion at the 2:58 mark of the first quarter.
Few realized at this point of the game that our Mustangs would unleash a 25 unanswered point assault on the visitors resulting in a 25-8 victory, upping their season mark to 3-0.
Landon Geyer plunged one yard for a touchdown to get the scoring started with 7 minutes remaining in the half. Riley Twehues knocked home the PAT and we trailed 8-7. With just under a minute remaining in the half, Eli Davis went on a 66 yard run to pay dirt, giving his team a 13-8 lead, and we weren’t finished yet. On the final play of the half, set up by a Nathan Geiman pass interception, Tyler Holtz found Landon Ruth on a 45 yard pass play and with no time remaining on the clock, the Mustangs had improved our lot in lift to 19-8 at intermission.
We would cap off the scoring for the day when Tyler Holtz capped off an 82 yard drive with a completion in the end zone to Nathan Geiman and the Mustangs had this one salted away, safely in the win column. These JVs will be back in action next Saturday at 11am at the MAC, hosting the Ludlow JVs. Our Colts will follow that game with a match against arch-rival Bracken County at 1pm.
