Early Season Highlights – Mustang Golf 2025
The Mustangs are off to a strong start this summer, showing steady improvement and competitive grit across several key tournaments:
July 22 – Big Blue Invitational @ The Kentucky Club – Big Blue
Kicking off the season with our first tournament, the team shook off the rust and held their own against a deep field from across the state. We finished tied for 15th, matching scores with Anderson County and Highlands.
- Collin Parks (Jr.) led the way with a solid 78
- Cole Bricking (Sr.) followed with an 81
- Derek Bezold (So.) posted an 84
- Jack Delaney (So.) carded a 90
- Max Runge (Sr.) made his tournament debut with a 95
July 30 – Highlands OrthoCincy Invitational @ AJ Jolly
With three tournaments under our belt, the team hit its stride at Highlands, placing 4th overall with a team score of 321.
- Jack Delaney (So.) fired a career-best 79
- Cole Bricking (Sr.) matched with a 79
- Collin Parks (Jr.) stayed consistent with an 80
- Derek Bezold (So.) added an 83
- Kellan Shaffer (So.) rounded out the scoring with an 88
July 31 – Beechwood Tiger Invitational @ Hickory Sticks
Riding momentum from Highlands, the Mustangs delivered their best performance of the season so far, finishing 3rd overall with a team score of 310, just behind Mason County and Rowan County.
- Cole Bricking (Sr.) led the charge with a stellar even-par 71, earning 7th place individually
- Collin Parks (Jr.) continued his strong play with a 77
- Derek Bezold (So.) carded an 80
- Jack Delaney (So.) added an 82
- Kellan Shaffer (So.) posted an 86
Upcoming Tournaments
August 5 – 10th Region All “A” Tournament
The Mustangs will compete against Augusta, Bracken County, Calvary Christian, Nicholas County, and Paris for a spot in the All “A” State Championship on September 6 at Gibson Bay. The top team and top two individuals will advance.
