
The Brossart Bass Team was back in action this weekend (May 9-10), returning to Lake Cumberland for the 2025 KHSAA State Championship after qualifying two boats at the regional tournament in April. The two-day event featured 114 teams from across Kentucky.
Day One Recap:
Carson Schultz and Carter Vogel had a strong start, bringing a full limit of five fish to the scales weighing in at 8 lbs even, placing them in 37th overall. Wyatt Moree and John Prather landed two fish totaling 4 lbs 8 oz, finishing the day in 57th place.
Day Two Highlights:
Both Brossart teams brought in the 5-fish limit on day two.
- Schultz and Vogel added 8 lbs 3 oz to their total, finishing with 16 lbs 3 oz overall and earning 31st place in the state.
- Moree and Prather brought in 8 lbs 11 oz, bringing their total to 13 lbs 3 oz and securing 35th place overall.
Captains for the weekend were Spencer Hackworth for Schultz and Vogel, and Doug Lackey for Moree and Prather.
This event wraps up the 2025 bass fishing season for the Brossart team. The anglers are already looking ahead to next year’s competitions, beginning in March 2026.
