10TH REGION TOURNAMENT
Lady ‘Stangs 63, St. Patrick 42
Monday, February 27th

In the Monday night opening round game of the 10th Region Girls Tournament in the Mason County Fieldhouse, the matchup between our Lady ‘Stangs and the St. Patrick Lady Saints had the looks of a classic ask and answer battle to the wire.  For the first 20 minutes neither team was able to muster more than a five point advantage – St. Pat’s up 22-17 late in the first half, and our girls on top 28-23 at intermission, the result of a 11-1 Brossart run to finish out the half.  There would be four lead changes mid-third quarter, when we would not only eek out a 33-32 lead, but then go on to blow the game open with a 31-10 run to close out what would become a twenty-one point 63-42 win, our 22nd victory of the season (22-11) and advance to the Friday night semi-finals where we will take on Montgomery County in the 6pm contest.  The Lady Indians were victorious 60-53 over Pendleton County in the late game  Monday night.

Molly Kramer matched the 16 points output of Izzy Riggs from St. Pat’s, who closed out her high school career as the co-leading scorer, and was named to the All-Tournament team.  This was Molly Kramer’s third consecutive 16 points outing.  Three additional Lady ‘Stangs recorded double-figures – Jill Planeaux put up 15, Zoee Meyers 12, and Bella Rowe 11.  On the other side of the ledger St. Pat’s seniors Caroline McKay and Makenna Roush contributed 9 points each.

Tuesday night’s lower bracket opening round games will feature tournament favorite George Rogers Clark versus longshot Nicholas County at 6pm, and Bracken County versus Scott in the nightcap at 7:45pm.
