Mustangs Roll (With the Changes) to Third Early Season Victory, 77-35, Over Holmes as Brandon Bezold Nails Six 3-Pointers en-route to a Career-High 28 Points Outing

Our Mustangs are no stranger to the David Evans Fieldhouse, having taken on Mason County here in the 10th Region Tournament this past spring.  On Thursday night we made ourselves right at home running out to a commanding 27-9 first quarter lead, and for all intents and purposes this one was safely tucked away in the win column, our third against no losses in this young season.

The remaining three periods would see our guys register 21 more points in the 2nd stanza, 20 more in the third, and 9 while the sophomores finished things out.  Brandon Bezold took a particular liking to the Holmes hardwood, knocking down six 3-pointers en-route to a 28 point performance – a career high.

Logan Woosley put up 14 and Mason Sepate 12, rounding out our double-figure scorers.  Sophomores Alex Combs and Ben Volmer scored their first varsity points, taking up their quest for our 1,000 Points Club.

JVs fall behind early, rally late, succumb to JV Dawgs 49-40.  Mustang were led by Ben Volmer with 12.

Freshmen Mustangs not quite ready for prime time, fall to our second 6A school in as many days, this time a 53-33 loss to Simon Kenton.  Carson Hesse was our only double-figure scorer with 10.

Our Freshmen will get some class relief on Saturday when they tip off a tripleheader versus Class 1A, Division III Ludlow at Ludlow at 11am on Saturday.
